Draft net-billing act withdrawn!

On Friday, October 29, the Sejm passed the law swiftly changing the terms of settlements with prosumers. Just a day earlier, Jadwiga Emilewicz withdrew her project after the amendments proposed in the Senate. The project was again submitted by Marek Suski and within 24 hours the project was passed in the Sejm.
The new deadline for introducing the regulations is April 1, 2022. Until then, anyone who introduces energy to the system will be able to settle accounts under the old rules.

Another change in the halls of parliament. The bill, which has been pending since July, aimed at changing the billing system for prosumers, has been withdrawn. The draft act was intended to withdraw the possibility of storing energy in a virtual storage - in the power grid. Changing the net-metering system to net-billing. In the new system, prosumers would sell any excess energy at the purchase price of active energy. We wrote more about this in a separate article: link.
Jadwiga Emilewicz, the author of the new bill, announced yesterday on Twitter that the bill was withdrawn. The new act aroused much controversy and was considered by the RES industry to be definitely less favorable.

The current draft was withdrawn after amendments adopted at a meeting of the Committee on Climate Energy and Sovereign Assets (ECN). Unfortunately, this is not the end of the changes that await us. Politicians definitely want to change the current system and the bill will go back to committee. It is expected that next year, the Sejm will propose further ideas and solutions in connection with the photovoltaic industry. The project will have to go through the full legislative path from the beginning and we hope that there will be room for social dialogue.
